1978 LOLA T333 CANAM. This stunning racecar is not a showroom queen! It
has history and is making history.
Currently racing in the NASA-AZ series in the Open Unlimited class. Multiple
firsts and track records at all three Firebird International Raceway tracks,
Phoenix International Raceway and absolute at St.Johns Grand Prix this July
as well as NASA-LA at Las Vegas outside track. It has yet to meet a car that
can beat it!
Campaigned by Southwest European Racing (www.sweuro.com), this Lola is kept in
perfect racing condition - every last nut, blot and rivet is examined and
replaced as needed.
Currently, the car is fitted with a brand new ZZ4 Chevrolet V8 350 with a Holley
750cfm racing carb, MSD ignition, MSD billet distributor and twin gel batteries.
The transmission is the original Hewland DG500. The original body is painted in
Team SWE colors. The ZZ4 produces 355hp and 410ft/lbs of torque at the rear wheels
w.o.t. Although this is less horsepower than the original engine (302 V8 with
Lucas fuel injection, 600+hp), it has much more torque. Around shorter or infield
tracks (as in AZ) one would spend more effort driving the original engine that the
car. The ZZ4 with dry sump works splendidly - maybe even better, and the maintainance
is next to nothing. The original engine (2 races since rebuild) is stored in
plastic shrink wrap and will be delivered with the car.
This 333 comes with two bodies - the original as in the photos and a lightly modified
body. The second is the ex Mike Allen #59 body. We have fitted it to this chassis and
made some aerodynamic enhancements to improve front end down force. The second body is
not painted and will be finished in the single color of choice of the new owner. Custom
paint schemes can be created at your request.
Priced to sell, this Lola is an extremely easy and fun car to drive very fast. At
10-10ths you better be one awesome driver...at 7-10ths wave as you blow by everyone!
