SCCA American Sedan Race Car

SCCA American Sedan Race Car

1995 Mustang SCCA A Sedan Race Car For Sale

This is a beautiful ready to race Mustang Cobra R clone race car. This vehicle was built from the ground up over the course of one year for the sole purpose of road racing at a cost of almost $60,000. The car was registered with SCCA in April, 2000 to run in the SCCA A Sedan (AS) series. This car can also be run ‘as it sits’ in the NASA American Iron series.

In the summer of 2004, I purchased the car from the original owner/builder. The car was fresh and ready to race. Under my ownership the car was not campaigned in any sanctioned races, only run in open track/driver training events. I have only used the car at four open track driving schools totaling 8 days of use (about 20-25 hours on engine).

The Mustang is equipped with a redundant ignition system. If any component fails while racing, flip one switch to the backup ignition system and flip another switch to redirect the tach to the backup ignition system. …and you can keep on racing!

This race car is equipped with a redundant fuel system too! If a fuel pump goes on the fritz, switch to the backup system. No problem! All switches are conveniently located within reach on the roll bar next to the driver.

The car has never been wrecked, but it does have a small ding on the drivers fender, a touched up scratch on the drivers door and a small crack on the rear bumper from the prior owners SCCA racing events. The body and paint are perfect otherwise.

To date, my repair work on the vehicle includes a new water pump (bad bearing), welding a crack in the oil pan and a new set of head gaskets. This car will run all day long at 180 degree water temps. Oil temps stay in the 200 - 220 range. This Mustang uses only the best Royal Purple Synthetic fluids in the engine, transmission, rear and radiator.

The car is beautiful, very fast and ready for the 2005 season. I have run this car at Watkins Glen and Lime Rock. An experienced driver may be able to turn 1:01 lap times at Lime Rock Park. The car comes with documentation, dyno sheets, setup specs, receipts and an SCCA registered logbook.
