NVRA Race Car

 

Race Ready Vintage Race Car #22 known as the "Stage Coach". 1936 Chevy all metal 2 door flat back body. Built in the late 1960's by the late Jack Rogers. Raced at Greenville Pickens speedway 1960 until mid 1962. (Limited Sportsman) Sold to Louie Weatherby mid season 1962 and driven by the late Lee Roy Yarborough at Greenville Pickens speedway and race events in Georgia, Florida and North Carolina.

The "Stage Coach" was purchased by Don Kelly and rebuilt to NVRA Racing Association OPEN competition rules in 1995 and raced 24 events from 1996 to 1998. The "Stage Coach" has:

  • Laughlin Racing tube frame, "Front steer".
  • Franklin front with aluminum hubs and drums.
  • Franklin quick change rear aluminum hubs and drums.
  • Jack screws and coil springs. (For Dirt track and Asphalt racing)
  • Long adjustable trailing arms.
  • 12 gallon fuel cell.
  • Griffen Racing radiator built for the car.
  • 34 Chevy radiator shell.
  • Gene Clayton small block Chevy balanced and blueprinted engine with electric cooling fan.
  • Holsenbach heads.
  • Action 10 quart oil pan.
  • Melling oil pump.
  • Edlebrock aluminum intake.
  • Holly 700 cfm carb.
  • Electrnic ignition.
  • Crossover headers.
  • Aluminum flywheel and 11 inch Zoom clutch.
  • All steel bell housing with scatter shield.
  • Holmon – Moody modified T-10 4 speed transmission.
  • Aluminum drive shaft.

    Car weight with fuel and oil, but without driver is 2,370 lbs.
