The Racers Network Wins Award.
The Racers Network has been awarded the prestigious Golden Web Award
for 2001-2002.
This award was presented to us by the I.A.W.M.D. which is an
International Organization that rewards Excellence on the Internet.
To win this award, certain requirements must be met. Websites are
submitted to judges who score sites in three primary categories:
- Design
- Content
- Originality
Each category may receive a score of Between 1 to 10. Three judges
score a particular website. The scores from the judges are then
totaled (30 being a perfect score). Winning the award requires a
total score of between 24 to 30.
The benefits of winning are simple. Only the best sites are voted to
receive the Golden Web Award. The criterion for winning remains a
challenge to even the best Webmaster, artists and designers. That
being said, the primary benefit of the Golden Web Award is the
recognition of your commitment to the pursuit of website excellence.
Further, it represents that your work is considered an outstanding
website, incorporating high standards of design, originality and
content.
The Racers Network is honored to receive this award from the
I.A.W.M.D.

Jason Leffler Fan Site. By: Jenn Kovach
A site devoted to NASCAR Rookie-of-the-Year contender, Jason Leffler
has been launched.
A native of Long Beach, California, Jason Leffler is pursuing his
dream of racing in Winston Cup. After signing a four-year contract
with Chip Ganassi Racing and Felix Sabates, Leffler has taken over the
driving duties of the No. 01 Dodge Intrepid for the NASCAR Winston

A three time USAC Midget champion, Leffler spent just one year in the
Busch Series competing in 31 events. Last season, Jason ran the No.

NASCAR TV Coverage.
I remember attending a meeting last May in Charlotte, listening to
NASCAR's Mike Helton telling us how good the 2001 seasons race
coverage would be with FOX and NBC providing the programming.
Well.... so far all we have seen is FOX strong-arming everyone into
paying for their coverage.
First it was the car sponsors that felt the squeeze. FOX wanted the
sponsors to pay them to apply their logos to the graphics displayed on
TV. It's interesting to note that NASCAR only permitted that to occur
1 time. NASCAR waved their heavy hand in FOX's direction and solved
the problem in a matter of hours.
Since then it has been the FOX mode of operation to make the FAN pay.
Why Not?... It works, and it is the approach that everyone takes.
NASCAR track owners keep raising ticket prices, hotels raise prices
and apply minimum stay requirements, parking rates triple in cost, and
the list goes on and on!
FOX switched some coverage to the FX and FOX SportsNet companies that
they own. The purpose of this is simple. If a cable company signs on
for FX or SportsNet they have to pay fees. In order for your cable
company to cover their costs, they have to raise your rates to
compensate. So... in the end... You Pay for the coverage.
How FOX accomplishes this is truly the work of a marketing genius.
The announcers tell you how they are trying to provide you with
coverage, and they enlist your help! All you have to do is call
800-FXFXFXFXFX (or some catchy number) and they will forward your
wishes on to the proper people. This FOX advertisement (for you to
pay for their contract) is run throughout it's coverage of a race, and
this past Sunday there was a new twist. You were told that FOX only
has a few more races to cover this year, so you better HURRY with your
call!!!
Whats in store when NBC takes over?... More of the same. We already
know that NBC plans on utilizing its MSNBC and CNBC companies for
coverage. So... if you don't have these through your cable provider,
your going to be in the same boat!
The basic fundamental question is why hasn't NASCAR stepped forward in
your defense. They did for their sponsors in several hours, but have not
spoken for their fans in several months.
It is obvious that when NASCAR negotiated this contract, that the fan
was never a consideration. Where are these peoples heads??
The state of NASCAR TV coverage is Deplorable!

Statistics and Testimonials.
In the year of 2000 The Racers Network was visited by over 1,370,000
"unique" visitors, and produced in excess of 13,401,000 hits. Not only
are these statistics outstanding, but more importantly we produce results.
Below is the response from a current The Racers Network user, who
recently sold his car.
Thanks for being there, my car sold because of your site. Actually
twice. I bought it after finding it on your site about 2 years ago,
and sold it yesterday because of your site. So, feel free to mark it
sold, or pull my ad off.
Thanks,
Phil Green
