  • Search Engine Tips.

We received the following e-Mail from a user, who makes a good suggestion for the web site search function

I would suggest a search engine that you can specify details of cars or items such as price, year, model, etc. This way you can easily chose to get a broad or very narrow range of the particular item that you are looking for. Hemmings used to have a very good search engine, but since then it has changed. The Los Angeles Recycler has a decent search engine. A really good search engine is the Patent and Trademark Office. You can enter a string of description and it would narrow it down to what you want.

    Good luck on your newsletter!
    Lito

You can search on these types of details. Place your specifications inside of quotation marks.... ex. "1969 ford" In this example, all ads that contain 1969 ford will appear on the screen for your selection.

There is a problem with the search function that we are trying to work out. In the above example, the short descriptions that appear for the ads is not clear. Instead of printing 1969 ford, it shows, as an example, "NHRA Nostalgia Classified Advertisement on The Racers Network" If you click on the selection, you will be shown a 1969 ford, but it did not show that on the search function.

We will keep you posted on our attempts to straighten out the descriptions that are shown.
