A software upgrade is one our goals for this year. We believe that the features that it offers, make the transition a worth while effort. The "Millennium Edition" provides a cleaner look, standardization of the features and functions bar, and takes into consideration some of the suggestions that the users of The Racers Network have been asking for. The date that a classified advertisement was posted (or changed) is now clearly indicated on the listing page. Along with that, the description area has been made larger. We are also taking the time to restructure certain areas of the site. The Parts For Sale area is undergoing such a change. We are making the area more racing specific, with dedicated areas for Drag Racing, Stock Car Racing, etc. So..... No More going through the whole list of motors, when what you are reallly looking for is a motor for your ITC SCCA car. The roll-out is a slow process, that will take several months to complete. We update areas (with the new software) when ads are received for them. Thank you for your many suggestions, and we appreciate your patience during the software implementation. ************************************************** Another one of our goals for this year, is to provide users of The Racers Network with news coverage of some of the races. It was our intention to begin news coverage with the Daytona 500. We contacted NASCAR to secure media credentials. We were informed that in order to obtain these from NASCAR, we had to cover at least 20 events. Our game plan for this year, is to cover 6 or 7 NASCAR events. So, we had to contact Daytona International Speedway directly. They turned our request down, stating that media requests for out number the speedways availability. We are still going to Daytona, but our coverage will be of off-track activities. We will be attending trade shows, private auctions, and other activities that make up a part of Speedweeks attractions. We will be covering racing events this year. It is our goal to make The Racers Network a complete source of information for racers of all types. ********************************************************************** We will have The Racers Network Auctions area up and running by early March. The auctions will be presented to users through an agreement with iDEAL International, Inc. Auctions are another one of this years goals, and the plan calls for several categories including: - Race Cars. - Parts. - Trailers. - Transporters. - Tickets. - Collectibles. We are excited about being able to add this New Feature to the Site. We hope that this will be a Great Addition to The Racers Network. ************************************************** Air Ride Hitch, Inc. located in Beech Island, SC. has joined our group of advertisers. They have a one month campaign for February, to see how much traffic we can send to their site. They offer innovative solutions to trailer hitch and towing problems. The hitches smooth out the ride in both the tow vehicle and the trailer. In total, the Internet site produced in excess of 8,791,200 hits. January 2000 had an excellent start for the new year, with over 117,000 "unique" visitors and 1,131,000 hits. Not only are these statistics outstanding, but more importantly we produce results. Below are a couple of responses from The Racers Network users, who have sold cars in January of this year. Hi, The 72 Vega in West Virginia that was $2,800. That came out on 1-12-00 has been sold. I assume sending this from my e-mail as listed in the ad is conformation enough for you to see that it is really sold. Thanks for your service the car sold the first day the ad came out I was impressed. Larry Ice West Virginia Hi, The '68 Camaro that I had advertised on your site as the featured car of the month has been sold. Thank you very much. Your site really works. The buyer saw my car on your site and came up from North Carolina to my home in eastern Pa. to buy it. You may use my comments as a promo for your fine web site. I also sold my 871 Magnesium blower through your site plus 3 pair of wheels. All I can say is thank you, your site really works. My ads also carried my other email address as well as this one. If you would please remove both the Camaro ad and the blower ad I would appreciate it because I am still getting emails and phone calls from them. The Camaro is listed under ESTA, IHRA & NHRA.
