Blair.com is the Primary sponsor of the car, and other Associate sponsors are DrScot.com and Rent-A-Wreck. Blair.com is one of the fastest growing clothing retailers on the Internet. President and CEO of The Racers Network Fred Wallace states "Our association with Blair.com is beneficial to our customers and users. Many Blair specials and sales are offered on the Blair.com Internet site". The 2002 Ford Taurus is owned by Jay Robinson Racing, and will be driven by Kirk Shelmerdine. Longtime fans of the late Dale Earnhardt are quite familiar with Kirk Shelmerdine. They know him as the leader of the championship pit crew nicknamed the "Flying Aces" and the "Junkyard Dogs," and he was Earnhardt's crew chief for four of his seven Winston Cup titles. But about 10 years ago Shelmerdine left Richard Childress Racing. He needed a lifestyle change. Being a crew chief was getting "pretty old" and there were things in his personal life that needed his attention. "I'd been stuck under the hood of a Winston Cup car since I was 18 years old," he said. "I was 30 before I ever stood up, looked around and saw what else was out there. Once I started doing that I noticed there were other things in life and it was going to take more time than I had to devote to it. The driving opportunities came up afterwards." Shelmerdine began running a limited ARCA schedule and remained on that circuit for most of the last decade. This year, however, a full-time Busch Series ride with team owner Jay Robinson is on the agenda.
