HMSA Race Car

1980 Porsche 924 GT Le Mans Turbo - - one of kind.
Chassis number 924-003. This is an incredibly rare Norbert Singer prepared 924 GT Le Mans Turbo. Three such factory cars were prepared for the 1980 Le Mans race, a 'German' car, a 'British' car, and an 'American' car. This is the American car, originally to be driven by Al Holbert and Peter Gregg, who was replaced by Derek Bell after Gregg was injured en route to Le Sarthe. The other two cars are still owned by the factory - this is the ONLY 1980 924 GT Le Mans Turbo in private ownership. After Le Mans where the car finished 13th overall, the car was delivered to Al Holbert, re-marqued in BF Goodrich livery until a concours restoration to original Le Mans livery in 1997. Last raced at the Monterey Historics in 1998 (see photo). Condition is EXCELLENT. Currently qualifies for vintage Le Mans, or any other vintage event. Located in California.
